Mahan Kalpa

One person who is normally part of the sound team (Sikhnet) every year at Summer Solstice is Mahan Kalpa.  He is actually a good music producer.

In his own words:

"I have always been fascinated by recorded sound. I made my first recordings with a friend at the age of 10. One night after watching a Godzilla movie we found his parent’s portable cassette recorder. That night I fell in love with the way recorded sound obliterated linear time and space. I produced and engineered my first commercial album in 1982 at the age of 18. Over the last 25 years I have recorded over 150 albums. I have worked with John Mellencamp, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and Iggy Pop. In 2007 I was presented with a RIAA certified double platinum album award for the Fray’s ‘How to Save a Life.’

I teach Kundalini Yoga at the MidlandyogaCenter, practice Aquarian Sadhana at the Wah Yantee House of Light Ashram, and record music at the White Ark Studios all in BloomingtonIndiana. I am blessed with two wonderful sons (Surya and Paisley) and a beautiful wife (Jote Kaur.).
